Workshops
Weekly dance workshops are held for the students at various centers across the New York City area and run through the school year. The workshops are typically 45 minutes for each age group, and each workshop is run by several dedicated House of the Roses dance instructors.As a teaching philosophy, we focus on success. HOTR uses positive feedback to reinforce self-expression and creativity. Careful word choice, age-appropriate movement and an accepting environment allow the children to express themselves safely through movement.
In 2008, House of the Roses had seven outreach locations in the Bronx and Manhattan. Our weekly workshops bring dance (tap, hip-hop, ballet, jazz and more) and movement games to more than 200 children each year.
